3M is seeking an experienced Resident Control Systems Engineer for Corporate Engineering's Process Information and Control Solutions (PI&CS) organization located at its Menomonie, WI manufacturing facility. At 3M, you can apply your talent in bold ways that matter. Here, you go.

Job Summary:
The person hired for this Senior Resident Control Systems Engineer position, will be a site-based technical resource responsible for providing effective control system solutions for a wide variety of new or existing automated process equipment that is used to manufacture 3M products in support of FMSCO Division. Specific responsibilities include the specification, design, integration, and start-up of control technologies. These control technologies include motion control, human machine interface, PID and PLC control, drives, sensors and measurement devices.

Primary Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
In this resident position, you will be a site technical resource responsible for the specification, design, and integration of control systems used to manufacture 3M products. Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following;
  • Control systems architecture scope development and design
  • Control systems cost estimating and schedule development
  • Hardware purchasing
  • Engineering drawing development, including P&ID's,
  • PLC/HMI programming
  • Systems integration
  • Machine commissioning, start up, and check-out
  • Assist in the implementation of site specific safety programs

Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited university
  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience in control system design and commissioning (private, public, government or military)

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology
  • Experience with Allen-Bradley and/or Siemens controls systems and hardware
  • Strong oral and written communications skills
  • Team player with the ability to contribute in a matrix environment
  • Demonstrated project leadership skills

Location: Menomonie, WI
Travel: May include up to 10% domestic
Relocation: Is authorized
