Assistant Facility Security Officer Responsibilities The Assistant Facility Security Officer/Security Specialist is responsible for ensuring successful security and safety programs are in place by implementing programs for protecting classified and unclassified sensitive information. Performs specialized duties in one or more security disciplines. This position reports to the Special Program Security Manager and assists with the day-to-day interpretation, implementation, enforcement, and execution of the National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual (NISPOM) while working in a fast-paced, high-demand, senior-level and team concept environment. The selected candidate will be responsible for supporting multiple security- and safety-related functions, both DoD and within the Federal Security Team. Candidate must possess an in-depth knowledge of applicable U.S. government security regulations. Candidate will be on call to respond to emergencies 24 hours per day, 7 days a week. Primary Duties: • Complete DoD and IC customer self-inspections and audits/assessments • Conducts investigations of known or suspected security infractions/violations and recommend corrective actions • Maintain classified accredited systems and their security plans as required. • Conduct weekly system audits, virus updates and reviews of classified accredited systems, to include SIPRNet, as required • Input Collateral and SCI visit requests into JPAS and letter format as required by the customer • Conduct eQIP, initial and periodic reinvestigation maintenance • Properly destroy classified materials as required • Assist in designing, implementing and conducting Annual Security Orientation, briefings, and education programs • Assist with constructing Security Newsletter • Document control and GSA container maintenance • Provide export control guidance to employees (if necessary) • Processes foreign visit requests, foreign travel requests and provides guidance to employees traveling abroad • Educate and train personnel on policies and procedures regarding DoD closed room • Manage the COMSEC account and materials for the Facility • Assist with compliance of DD254 contracts to include subcontractors and consultants • Support and provide Intrusion Detection System (IDS) cards to office personnel and senior management • Provides physical security support for all construction projects and modifications • Provides technical support for alarms and systems and establishes a process for alarm response and repair • Assist with emergency preparedness drills and exercises • Support and travel to regional offices as required • Other duties as assigned Core requirements: 3-5 years of experience Bachelors Degree Top Secret security clearance Experience supporting and facilitating secure facilities **Job:** **Security - Corporate Security* **Organization:** **Security* **Title:** *Corporate Security Advisor (McLean, VA)* **Location:** *DC-Washington* **Requisition ID:** *16000ZRE*
