Corporate Strategy & Development Manager
Microsoft’s Corporate Strategy team operates as an internal consultancy and advises the CEO and senior leadership team on a range of topics including growth strategy, competitive analysis, and future trends.
This role on our bi-coastal strategy team is based in Washington, DC. Being on the Corporate Strategy team puts you in the middle of the transformation of one of the world’s largest and most influential companies, and in the midst of the biggest disruption in the history of the technology industry. •Work with senior executives to address the most pressing questions facing Microsoft and Microsoft’s business units including Windows, Office, Windows Server, Azure etc.
•Develop a comprehensive understanding of the entire portfolio of Microsoft businesses to propose and analyze strategic decisions impacting multiple divisions.
•Create frameworks to tackle complex problems; drive diagnostic rigor in making decisions; analyze research and data to develop actionable solutions.
•Lead key modules of strategy projects and orchestrate work streams across the Corporate Strategy team. Act as a thought leader on Microsoft’s strategy.
•Understand and stay current on tech industry trends, competitive landscape and internal product development efforts.
•1-year minimum experience in Consulting, Management Consulting, Investment Banking, or Corporate Strategy
•Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
•1-4 years at a top-tier investment bank/PE/VC, management consulting firm (McKinsey, BCG, Bain, etc.), in-house corporate strategy team, or other relevant work experience.
•Excellent research, problem-solving and analytical skills, with impeccable analytical and business judgment.
•Ability to lead conversations at the most senior levels and independently drive high profile initiatives (be both a thought partner for executives and detail/process oriented).
•Passion for and experience in the technology industry.
•Superior written and oral communication skills, including presentation skills.
•Experience with financial modeling, M&A, valuations, DCF a plus.
