A R&D Formulation Chemist job in Chatsworth, CA is available courtesy of Adecco Medical & Science. As a R&D Formulation Chemist you will play a key role in the development of new skin care and color cosmetic formulations including hair care, creams, lotions, OTC sunscreens, and skin cleansers based on product profile, as well as reformulation of existing products as required

RESPONSIBIILTIES

Perform measurements on ingredients and formulas, including but not limited to pH, viscosity, melting point, IR, specific gravity, microscopic evaluation
Work with laboratory equipment/processes, required to make formulation batches, including: laboratory mixers, blenders, homogenizers, balances, pH meters, viscometers, microscope, centrifuge, packaging fillers, sealers


QUALIFICATIONS:

BS/MS degree in science or related discipline
3-5 years' experience as an R&D/Formulation Chemist in Cosmetic and/or Personal Care industry (skin/hand/hair care)
Current and/or previous experience in a contract manufacturing company or a company where a high volume of new formulations are taken to market each year
