Cost Accounting Lead for St. Louis, MO agricultural/biotechnology company to manage costing team & global product costing, closing and account reconciliation activities; manage WIP variance and cost center over/under absorption analysis; lead team in monitoring, reconciling & closing balances and open orders; ensure execution of activity rate creation & adjustments; manage development of standard unit costs by crop, variety & region; oversee internal & external audits related to inventory balances and costing by business; ensure SOX certification on inventory accounts; develop & implement processes for costing error resolution; ensure accuracy of master material data; support SEC & regional statutory reporting requirements; collaborate to set load & transfer prices; share information with regional teams; manage & develop team members. Requires Master's in B.A., Finance or Accounting & 2 yrs experience performing product costing, closing and account reconciliation activities for a global organization; supporting global finance & business teams; using SAP FICO & Profitability Analysis (PA), Oracle Hyperion Financial Management, and Oracle Hyperion FDMEE to perform complex manufacturing and costing financial analysis, including analyzing volume, price and conversion costs and analyzing profit in inventory (PII) using last-in, first-out (LIFO) inventory valuation methodologies; interpreting & applying US GAAP to an agricultural manufacturing environment; ensuring operational compliance with US GAAP & SOX; using Lean & Six Sigma methodologies and Excel macros and automation tools to implement costing process improvements; translating agricultural business drivers, such as commodity pricing, acreage changes, currency rate changes, competitive responses, or other agricultural market dynamics, into financial forecasts; working with cross-functional stakeholders within a global, matrixed organization; communicating operational impact of financial analysis to non-finance stakeholders & financial business performance to multiple levels of global management; and coaching & mentoring junior personnel.
