CHS has an exciting opportunity as a Crop Nutrient Risk Consultant you will market our Dealer Risk Management Services and will service and solicit new crop nutrient dealer accounts. As a consultant to the dealer, you will gather and analyze pertinent market place intelligence and disseminate to participating Dealerships. In addition, you will strategize with the Dealer on inventory positioning given observed trends from market place intelligence. Recommend and execute appropriate hedging strategies given needs to transfer risk. You must have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, and be detail oriented.

You Will:
  • Call or email industry contacts with requests on market views, news and information.
  • Review industry reports and publications for pertinent market intelligence and analyze.
  • Create price charts to show market conditions.
  • Disseminate daily, all intelligence gathered to customers with value added opinion on potential Dealership risk impact if any.
  • Execute swap transactions on behalf of CN dealerships.
  • Gather dealer customer quarterly tonnage data and prepare invoices. Track ongoing revenue flow and collect past due revenue.
  • Annual department budget and profit- loss responsibility.
  • You will assemble power point presentations and sell CHS Hedging Crop Nutrient Dealer Risk Management Services to prospective fertilizer dealers as well as represent services to various other interested parties.
  • Ability to travel up to 20% of the time.
Basic Qualifications: (required)
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 5 plus years experience in the commodity markets to include:
    • Trading
    • Technical analysis experience
    • General sales experience
  • Series 3 license or ability to obtain within 6 mos of employment
  • Ability to travel up to 20% of the time.

Preferred Qualifications: (preferred)
  • Bachelor’s in Agriculture Economics, business or finance.
  • Commodity trading or hedge fund trading experience
  • Fundamental and technical market analysis experience.
  • Fertilizer Markets trading experience.
  • Knowledge of Ag-production methods.
  • Experience presenting complex and sensitive financial strategies to customers.
  • M.S. applications such as Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
