Electrical Engineering Coop The Electrical Engineering Coop is a limited duration cooperative education role where university students are hired to assist CT product software engineers with development of a wide range of product features while learning about electrical engineering in industry. Department Description: The CT GCX (Gantry, Couch, and X-ray) Subsystem group is responsible for the hardware that controls the x-ray generator, collimators, detectors, motion, and integrates other subsystems and the platform for the design and implementation of the CT products. Located in Cleveland, Ohio, this unit is part of the CT Global Research and Development organization. Along with other units located in Haifa (Israel), Bangalore (India), and Suzhou (China), we engineer all the hardware required for our extensive product line of CT scanners. Candidate Responsibilities: Supports the analysis, testing, troubleshooting and documenting of internal or supplier electrical/electronic systems and/or sub-systems with support from senior engineers. Supports the modeling, simulation, analysis and generation of design requirements/solutions for the design of electrical/electronic systems and/or sub-systems with support from various engineers. Works on various problems in a supporting role where analysis of situations or data requires a review of a variety of factors. Candidate Profile: College student of junior or senior status working toward a B.S. degree in Computer or Electrical Engineering, or related field with an emphasis on electrical design. Outstanding GPA. Able to read and modify schematics designs and printed circuit board layout using CAD tools. Familiar with the use of lab equipment including oscilloscopes, function generators, counters, logic and network analyzers. Hands on experience in circuit boards debugging and modification. Familiar in mixed signal circuits and power electronics designs and development. Familiar in digital control and embedded processor designs and development. Experience in or familiarity with FPGA designs and development. Experience in or familiarity with electromechanical and motion control. Industry experience in electronics development, projects, and troubleshooting is a plus.
