Current Need

 

We are recruiting for a Cyber Forensics Analyst to join our Information Security Risk Management (ISRM) team.

Position Description

 

Responsible for the technical aspects of an information security investigation; including forensic analysis involving PCs, servers, applications, infrastructure devices, etc. Candidate will coordinate and communicate with legal, privacy, security, incident response, and networking professionals.

 

Other responsibilities include:

  • Perform forensic analysis on computer systems for potential litigation, and for HR related matters

  • Investigate potential identity theft and/or intrusions to/from client facing systems and resources

  • Produce monthly incident reports

  • Inventory evidence and maintain proper chain of custody

  • Document actions taken for audit, regulatory and legal purposes within approved incident tracking system

  • Communicate and escalate issues and incidents as  by process or management

  • Collaboration with Line of Business technical teams for issue resolution and mitigation

Additional responsibilities will include performing documentation review and improvement, attending meetings as needed, serve as front line response for troubleshooting low-level issues as needed

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements
6+ years experience in administering security controls in an organization

Critical Skills 

  • 6+ years of Information Technology experience with network technologies, specifically TCP/IP, and related network tools
  • Solid demonstrable experience with Guidance Software (EnCase) FTK (Forensic Tookit) 

  • Demonstrated analytical, problem solving, and prioritization skills

  • Subject matter expert (SME) in one or multiple areas such as Windows, Unix, midrange, PCs and mobile devices, firewalls, intrusion detection, data loss prevention, or information risk management

  • EnCe or other computer forensic certification

  • Appropriate communication skills to communicate with Legal, Human Resources, IT staff and others on the resolution of customer escalations, incident handling, and incident response

  • Experience in a fast paced, high stress, support environment

  • Ability and experience with reviewing raw log files

  • Experience maintaining tools, procedures, and documentation

  • Ability to think strategically, work with a sense of urgency and attention to detail

  • Ability to follow detailed process and procedure documentation

  • Ability to present complex solutions and methods to non-technical people

  • Independent thinking, willingness to "step outside the box"

  • Demonstrated ability to be reliable and flexible

  • Excellent written and verbal communication and organizational skills

Additional Knowledge & Skills

  • Good grasp of developing and writing regular expressions

  • Understanding of network design principles and knowledge of the OSI model

  • SME level understanding of Information Security including threats, attacks, and vulnerability management

  • Experience with IDS, IPS, or another signature matching technology

  • CISSP or SANS GIAC certification

  • Network, Security, or Platform certification(s) (S+, N+, MCSP, CNA)

Education
4-year degree in computer science or related field or equivalent experience

 

Certifications   

  • EnCe or other computer forensic certification

  • CISSP or SANS GIAC certification   preferred

  • Network, Security, or Platform certification(s) (S+, N+, MCSP, CNA) preferred
