Gartner Digital Markets is an innovative web-focused business that provides demand generation services for the software industry. We’re a group of three web properties (Software Advice, Capterra and GetApp) that all serve as a TripAdvisor or Yelp for the software industry. We’re looking for an experienced Software Architect with a strong background in developing software and data services for our centralized product team.

In this role, you'll help create a unified product and vendor catalog that will support our Digital Markets brands (Software Advice, Capterra and GetApp) roll out new product lines to software vendors and buyers . What you’ll do:
    Design, prototype and implement new web services. You have the expertise and know-how to recommend the right designs and database structures that scale from prototype to production. Evaluate, test and select our tech. You have a deep knowledge of all the leading trends in data that will help to identify the right technologies, best practices and platforms to scale our business. Deliver data that will support all three GDM sites . You’ll transform, normalize and standardize raw data into easy to consume formats by using proprietary and third-party tools. Work across multiple businesses . You’ll collaborate with distributed teams and various stakeholders across multiple locations to design and build scalable systems and microservices.

What you’ll need:
    A bachelor’s degree and 5+ years of developing backend systems. You have a bachelor’s degree (or higher) in a CS related field, along with expert knowledge of database technologies such as MySQL, Oracle or PostgreSQL. 2+ years experience in systems architecture. You’ve been around the block and have experience in building on cloud architecture such as Amazon AWS or Azure.
  • A server-side savvy skillset. You know how to implement a REST API and have advanced knowledge in C#, ASP.NET, Typescript and Python 2.
  • A total data junkie. You’re an expert at data modeling, cleansing and creating ETL jobs and specs. Bonus points if you have experience with BI and master data management.
