Top Three Skills:1. 3+ years Experience with server and layer 1 cabling installation. (Pug and play, rack and stack with servers)
2. 3+ years Experience with data center management procedures and tools (such as ticketing systems they have worked with in the past within a data center)
3. 3+ years Proficiency with basic office management software systems
Job Description: Basically, we are looking for two people to work in a very large data center environment to supplement our current Data Center Management staff. These positions are in response to a need to expand our staff, driven by a large scale, multi-year technology refresh project. This will greatly increase our need to work with our installation vendors to coordinate, schedule, and QA server and layer 1 cabling installations and decommissions. Associated work includes equipment receipt and inventory management, and updating of reports, systems, and schedules as needed. Other operations-oriented tasks can include trouble shooting, problem management, change control record creation, and data center physical access control.
Additional Information: Performs second level diagnosis, troubleshooting and resolution for intermediate to complex data or voice communication network issues. Recommends, costs and implements network solutions to support business needs and solve customer problems. Orders, tests, certifies, installs and configures new and upgraded network hardware and software. Coordinates and implements move/add/change service requests. Responds to break/fix issues, escalating to and managing or coordinating vendors as needed. Monitors network capacity. May be responsible for overall change management process. Acts as project coordinator and/or subject matter expert on network initiatives. Maintains documentation. May participate in network studies and traffic analyses
