POSITION DESCRIPTION
USMM Data Management Specialists provide reliable, consistent support of application interfaces while working to develop, test, and operationalize workflow improvements using data integration. The right candidate will work with internal clients and outside entities to identify workflow improvement opportunities, data sources, and data elements to assist with these opportunities, and implement them with the assistance of third-party developed software solutions.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Develop and maintain data interfaces based on developed requirements
  • Participate in training and mentoring team members
  • Document data flows and environment changes
  • Maintain a functional development and test environment
  • Upgrade, test, and implement data interface changes related to applications
  • Use change control measures to document and communicate changes to the environment
  • Abide by company and industry regulations for transmitting and sharing protected health information
  • Assist in establishing best practice and process improvements
  • Other duties as assigned
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND EXPERIENCE
  • BS or BA Degree
  • Minimum of 3 years of applicable development experience
  • Knowledge of HL7 messaging and interfaces
  • Experience using an ETL tool
  • Solid understanding of the SDLC
  • Working knowledge of structured data and databases
  • After-hours support as needed
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to understand and operate complex technical applications
  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
  • Self-motivated and customer service oriented
  • Great attention to detail
  • Excellent organizational, decision-making, and time management skills; ability to track and perform multiple tasks
  • Ability to take ownership of and follow through on client issues until resolution is achieved
PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND EXPERIENCE
  • Experience with the Rhapsody IDE
  • Microsoft SQL experience
  • Report writing experience
  • Experience with healthcare data and medical terminology
  • Familiar with Jira
