Position Summary

 

The primary responsibility of a  REMS Data Management Analyst  is to work directly with key business stakeholders (often at the highest level), peers, and application developers in the creation and presentation of new  assessment metrics, lifecycle analytics, key performance indicators and measures, interactive models, and data quality processes while maintaining and enhancing existing analytic and reporting offerings.   Analysts are actively involved in:
  1. Requirement generation
  2. Solution design and creation (using a variety of tools Business Objects,  Xcelsius, Tableau, SQL/PLSQL, TSQL,  Excel, PowerPivot, SPSS, SAS, SalesForce Analytics, etc.)
  3. Quality Assurance testing
  4. Implementation, monitoring, and enhancement of solutions
  5. Support and facilitation of presentations to a wide audience of internal and external stakeholders
 

This individual should possess strong operational, technical, and problem solving acumen. This individual should be capable of working independently to deliver multiple projects on time and within scope. He/she must be able to interpret internal and/or external business issues and recommends best practices, solve complex problems, and work independently. Additionally, this individual will be highly skilled working in a matrix environment, and may lead teams or projects.

 

Key Responsibilities

                               

1.            Data Analysis and Management

2.            Process Development/Improvement

3.            Product Development

4.            Primary backup for REMS Strategy team members in matters relating to REMS
               Assessments and REMS Program Reporting.

 

5.            Support external party audits (i.e. clients and regulatory authorities), in accordance
               with Quality Management system.                



Qualifications

Minimum Requirements

  • 4-year degree in computer science or related field, or equivalent experience; advanced degree a plus
  • 8+ years’ experience in data analysis
 
Critical Skills
  • 5+ years professional experience in the analysis and presentation of data utilizing large data stores
  • 5+ years experience with writing SQL statements sourcing large and complex data bases and data marts
  • 5+ years experience with  business intelligence and analytic toolsets 
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Ability to identify, analyze, and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets
  • Familiarity with basic statistical methodologies to analyze data, forecast trends, and create analytical models
  • Knowledge of lifecycle reporting and analytics, “what if” scenario analytics, survey methodologies and analyses, as well as root cause and data mining techniques
  • Experience with common analytic toolsets (SAS, SPSS, R, Excel, Oracle Analytic Functions, etc.)
  • Established track record in creating compelling and readily understandable data visualizations, presentations, and reports
  • Ability to communicate findings, methodologies, and complex concepts (both verbally and written) to a wide audience of stakeholders
  • Demonstrated experience with Business Intelligence toolsets (Business Objects, MicroStrategy, Cognos, etc.) as well as dashboard offerings (Xcelsius, Tableau, Qlikview, etc.)
  • Familiarity with data warehouses (Oracle, SQL Server, DB2, etc)
  • Proficiency in SQL/PLSQL or TSQL query generation as well as  SQL optimization
  • Ability to collaborate and actively engage in the determination of requirements, solution design, and development efforts
  • Flexible and capable of prioritizing competing tasks, timelines, and work streams
  • Self motivated, detail oriented, responsible, and dependable  with the ability to work efficiently with minimum supervision

 

Additional Knowledge/Skills
  • Knowledge/understanding of layout and structure of healthcare data stores
  • Knowledge of FDA regulations, CAPA, and ISO standards (GMP or GXP preferred)

  • Experience in a FDA-regulated environment supporting Quality System regulations

  • Strong time management and organizational skills necessary, PMP a plus

     
Education

4-year degree in computer science or related field, or equivalent experience; advanced degree a plus

Up to 25% travel may be required
