Travis Roberts Phone: (877) 838-6924 Ext: 54160 Email: Title: Data Scientist Location: Spring, TX 77389 Duration: Contract to Full-Time Job Description The Data Scientist role is responsible for modeling complex problems, discovering insights and identifying opportunities through the use of statistical, algorithmic, mining and visualization techniques. In addition to advanced analytic skills, this role is also proficient at integrating and preparing large, varied datasets, architecting specialized database and computing environments, and communicating results. The primary role of a Data Scientist in the Audit organization is to support audits through implementation of the above techniques. Ideal candidates would have a strong mathematical and statistical background with an understanding of Computer Science and associated technologies. Domain Expertise in any part of the business is a plus. Prior experience in Python, R, SQL, MS BI, Java, and/or Visual Studio (C++, C#, F#, etc.) is required. Scope Of Responsibility Develop, enhance, and support tools utilized in a wide variety of audit tests • Responsible for the end to end development of self-service analytical tools • Work closely with Audit subject matter experts, data stewards, and other IT teams to define requirements • Utilize and build views in SQL Data Warehouse or other data staging platform • Leverage Python, Web Services, MS BI, or other technology to query and stage data • Create front end visualizations (charts, tables, etc.) for display of data to users • Implement machine learning and predictive techniques where applicable • Maintain tools by continually enhancing them and providing technical support to end users • Recommend ongoing improvements to development methods and algorithms Monitor technology landscape for new opportunities • Assist with identifying and implementing new platforms (e.g. Machine Learning, Predictive Analytics, etc.) • Transition legacy processes (primarily Access) into new technology • Educate the organization on new approaches to leveraging technology on a basic to advanced level • Provide on-going tracking and monitoring of performance of decision systems and statistical models Serve as a data analytics expert within the organization • Provide consulting for auditors on what tools and techniques should be used for audits/tests • Develop and deliver training on tools and techniques • Demonstrates the following scientist qualities: clarity, accuracy, precision, relevance, depth, breadth, logic, significance, and fairness Best Regards, TRAVIS G.
