Responsible for the company's data management for both operations and analytics, ensuring data is available, accurate, complete and secure. This includes the processes, people and technology that will provide effective data management. Reviews existing data models to understand current environment. Creates conceptual, logical, and physical master data models (entity-relationship diagrams). Analyzes current business practices, processes and procedures, as well as identifying future business opportunities for leveraging data storage and retrieval system capabilities. Management of design services, providing sizing and configuration assistance, and performing needs assessments. Manages relationships with vendors to understand the potential architectural impact of different vendor strategies, ensures the development of proper training and documentation for enterprise-wide technical architecture, systems use and maintenance, and planning and integrating next-generation technologies into the architectural strategy. Selects, develops and evaluates personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function. Functional areas may include, but are not limited to: data governance, master data management, material create, and material management.
**PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**
Collaborate with cross functional data management teams to ensure data integrity and consistency. Support data quality clean up efforts, ability to leverage tools.
Full use and application of standard data management and governance principles, theories, concepts, and techniques.
Provides resolutions to an assortment of problems of moderately complex scope. Uses judgment within defined practices and procedures. Handles projects which have short term focus.
Works under normal supervision. Follows established direction and work assignments. Work is reviewed for accuracy and overall adequacy.
Contributes to the fulfillment of projects and organizational objectives. Failure to achieve results or erroneous judgments or recommendations may require the allocation of additional resources to correct and/or achieve project goals.
Contacts primarily with colleagues within the department with occasional cross-functional and external customer contacts on routine matters.
