This role requires effective use of DBMS utilities and administration and monitoring tools as well as assisting in the development and implementation of database standards, policies and procedures. This candidate will maintain database related documentation and project statuses.

Job Description

This candidate’s responsibilities include managing and maintaining data in all production and non-production databases and replication servers. They will maintain application database, generate reports, queries and documenting. In addition, this individual manages database elements, including creation, alteration, deletion and copying of schemas, databases, tables, views, indexes, stored procedures, triggers and declarative integrity constraints. They will manage database tuning and participate in stress testing activities providing recommendations where appropriate. The team also handles testing, reporting, backup/restoration, manages database distribution, security and access requirements. This role manages the upgrades and installs of DBMS software. They will provide monitoring and capacity management of the database as well as perform supporting activities in partnership with internal and external service providers. This candidate manages the maintenance of DB & ETL environments including backups, healthchecks, applying fixpacks, and upgrading the software. They will create Marimba packages for client software, manage ETL support activities such as creating folders, IDs, relational connections and deploying objects across environments. This role also manages DB & ETL disaster recovery exercises and performs DB & ETL troubleshooting and problem determination activities.

 

Required Qualifications

  • 2-5 years related experience in IT.
  • 2-5 years SQL Server experience in any of the following versions 2008-2014
  • 2-5 years Windows OS management experience.
  • 2-5 years of Disaster Recovery Experience with Databases.
  • 2-5 years Database Management-SQL Server

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Monitoring and scheduling tools such as Maestro, Patrol
  • Coding T-SQL

 

Required Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, related discipline or equivalent experience.
