Job Summary

The Decision Science Analyst develops mathematical models and analytical programs to solve business problems. This position provides results from research to assist management in decision-making and analyzes and determines data, system, and program requirements in addition to system specifications for departmental projects. Essential duties and responsibilities, shown below, will vary accordingly based on assignment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develops mathematical models and analytical programs to solve business problems.
  • Provides results from research to assist management in decision-making.
  • Analyzes and determines data, system, and program requirements in addition to system specifications for departmental projects.
  • Assists with design of models and programs.
  • Performs assigned programming tasks.
  • Participates in testing and implementation of systems and interpretation of results.
  • Prepares documentation for systems and programs.

Qualifications (may vary by level)

Required Experience

  • Bachelor's degree required in Mathematics or related discipline or equivalent.
  • Advanced Degree in Operations Research, Statistics, or Business preferred.
  • Minimum of 1 year of statistical, operations research, and scientific programming or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Ability to work well with diverse teams.
  • Requires strong analytical, judgment, and problem solving skills.
  • Requires excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent documentation skills required and the ability to work effectively with clients, IT management, and their staffs.
