Position Description

Fiserv is seeking a Design Manager to join its dynamic, high energy Global Brand team. This talented individual is a seasoned creative that guides concepts and designs and develops creative for environmental/trade show graphics, marketing campaigns, digital initiatives and communications. The right candidate will be able to voice creative rationale, help guide Jr. Designers, possess a great attention to detail, and be able to successfully meet deadlines with little direction. The Design Manager will have the ability to articulate creative concepts and work with internal clients, designers and writers to develop high-quality creative that supports and enhances the Fiserv brand.

The ideal candidate will be an experienced visual designer with a portfolio that reflects his/her expertise in trade show design, digital as well as print. This individual will have a strong knowledge of environmental design and can turnaround highly conceptual and polished graphics with little notice.  This position reports to the Creative Director, Global Brand.

Primary Responsibilities

Design Manager

  • Serve as lead designer on a wide range of projects while also guiding junior staff
  • Assist Creative Director in internal kick-offs, brainstorming sessions and reviews
  • Design to creative strategies that enhance marketing campaigns, digital initiatives and communications
  • Articulate creative rationale through strong written and verbal communications skills
  • Assist Creative Director in review of work and development of talent
  • Follow processes to manage workload, project scheduling and tracking
  • Ability to develop creative that allow for a consistent brand experience across all deliverables, such as sales collateral, presentations, tradeshow graphics, video, web content, advertising, etc.
  • Juggle multiple projects while working with a range of business units
  • Serve as a point person for all trade show and exhibit design, being able to speak the language of both specialties and create successful designs in all trade show and event deliverables
  • Manage projects from concept to completion and ensure the translation of marketing objectives into dynamic creative strategies
  • Demonstrate a clear understanding of the Fiserv brand and maintain its integrity in creative development

  • Stay abreast of trends in design and technology to ensure creative solutions are relevant and reflective of a global technology leader
  • Consistently raise the creative bar and design solutions the lift and evolve the Fiserv brand

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree required (Fine Arts, Advertising, Exhibit Design or other related field)
  • Minimum of 5-8 years proven experience in Sr Designer or Art Director role
  • Experience in financial services and/or technology industry a plus
  • Experience working in a corporate environment a plus
  • Work in our office located in Alpharetta, GA
  • Ability to travel as needed, and stay operative if traveling for business
  • Some experience managing staff or small teams a plus

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • 8+ years’ experience in design applied to environments, digital and print media in support of integrated marketing communications programs
  • Track record as a hybrid designer – speaking to and designing for environmental graphics as well as digital and print platforms
  • Extensive experience and proficiency with current graphic design software and tools, practices and procedures including Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Acrobat), Microsoft PowerPoint and Microsoft Word, Keynote and others
  • CAD proficiency a plus
  • Strong knowledge of current digital platforms, front-end web design and email template design
  • Strong conceptual thinker and creative problem solver
  • Ability to storyboard/sketch or translate ideas to design team to spark further idea generation and collaboration
  • Ability to translate complex ideas and data into infographics and other creative executions
  • Must  be able to work as part of a team to arrive at best creative solution
  • Collaborative approach/mindset
  • Ability to communicate effectively (written and verbally) with designers, account managers, and internal and external clients
  • Attention to detail and a focus on quality is a must
  • Understanding of, and ability to design for, current social media platforms
  • Extensive knowledge of production processes for print, environmental and digital media
  • Knowledge of layouts, graphic fundamentals, typography, possibilities and limitations of media
  • Organizational skills: Ability to prioritize assignments, and work successfully in a deadline driven environment
