We are working with a client in Germantown and they are looking for a temporary to hire Designer with AutoCAD and/or SolidWorks experience. The Designer will be responsible for the following:

- Create technical drawings from ideas, concepts, instructions and diagrams into workable product designs. Work with Engineering on the design of custom applications.

- Transform sketches, concepts, layouts into designs using solid models, 3D models, 2D documents and assembly drawings using SolidWorks, Inventor, and/or AutoCAD.

- Using specialized design and experience to create technical drawings from ideas, concepts, instructions and diagrams into workable product designs.

- Transform sketches, concepts, layouts into designs using solid models, 3D models, 2D documents and assembly drawings using SolidWorks, Inventor, and/or AutoCAD.

- Create and update detailed drawings of designs according to changes in specifications, building plans and/or survey data.

- Review engineering drawings and designs to ensure accuracy and adherence to established specifications and standards.

- Work with Engineering on the design of custom applications.

- Work with vendors to ensure components are applied correctly.

- Perform special projects as assigned.

Job Requirements Two or more years of design/drafting experience is required, preferably in an architectural, structural or mechanical design environment. �{ Knowledge of physics, motion dynamics, electromechanical engineering, codes and regulations of product components. �{ Ability to understand requirements and goals of projects to produce workable designs according to specifications. �{ Must be able to consider manufacturability and assembly issues to check other designer�� work and avoid rework. �{ Requires the ability to read, interpret and comprehend technical drawings and survey data. Must possess strong knowledge of commonly-used drafting concepts, practices and procedures. Fluent in Microsoft Office Suite. (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, and Outlook). Experience with 3D modeling (Inventor or SolidWorks) is preferred. Must be able to understand and closely follow instructions and rough product designs and specifications. Effective verbal and written communication skills are required. Bachelor's Degree in Design preferred Associate's Degree or Technical School and/or AutoCAD Certification required.
