Looking for experienced Developmental Associate I to work in the beautiful city of Bothell, WA. The successful candidate will be responsible for a variety of chromatography and filtration operations, including planning experimental designs, programming and executing chromatography methods (GE AKTA platform), sample collection and testing, and summarization of chromatographic and analytical results. Under general supervision, this person carries out advanced experiments or procedures. The cumulative goal of this work will be the transfer of the purification process to a large-scale facility for production of bulk drug substance for clinical trials.
General responsibilities include:
Mastered relevant lab methodologies and is aware of applications, problems and limitations of the techniques
Analyzes and interprets experimental results in consultation with supervisor, but makes some basic decisions independently
Works with supervisor to plan and prioritize experiments
Contributes data to internal and external reports
May create procedures for paper and electronic data archiving and organization with close supervision
Presents data at internal project meetings with input from supervisor
Performs assays (e.g. HPLC assays) in support of client projects.
Lead role in managing maintaining and managing lab equipment maintenance and repair.
Required Background / Qualifications
Education / Training:
Associate or Bachelor's Degree in relevant field with 0-5 years relevant experience or equivalent work experience
Entry level for MS
Strong proficiency with chromatography systems is required, particularly with GE AKTA Explorer or Avant systems(Is a must have requirement!!!)
Knowledge of the biopharmaceutical industry and protein biochemistry is a plus
Comfortable working in a lab environment
Candidate should have good mechanical aptitude and be comfortable working with computers and analytical equipment
Must have good written & oral communication skills and technical ability
Ability to problem solve and troubleshoot
Ability to work independently and in a team setting
Willingness to support evening and weekend work, as needed
Able to lift 30 pounds and have good manual dexterity to work in a laboratory environment
Must be dependable, detail-oriented, organized, and willing to perform both routine tasks and develop new skills. Ability to plan experiments, analyze and interpret results and move to the next step. Experience with integration analysis and data presentation.
Careful attention to detail in record keeping, data analysis and reporting and maintenance of a clean and orderly work area.
Excellent written and oral communication skills are required as this individual will document results of development work on a daily basis, write project reports, and potentially participate in meetings and give presentations.
Good inter-personal skills and a desire to work as part of a team.
