A DevOps Systems Administrator role is available courtesy of Adecco Engineering and Technology in Herndon, VA. This position requires hands-on experience in implementing and configuring cloud environments (e.g. AWS, SalesForce, Azure). Additionally the person in this role should have experience in Shell Scripting, web Servers, Git, and be familiar with Agile methodologies.
Responsibilities:

Perform as a DevOps sysadmin by supporting deployment and operations of various applications in production and other environments.
Create and enhance internal OS deployment tools and processes.
Develop and manage processes of automated build and deployment.
Develop and manage configuration tools.
Use system resource utilization and monitoring tools to identify potential problem areas before they result in incidents.
Co-ordinate with development teams to make sure the deployment process and best practices, other production requirements are taken into account early in lifecycle of development.
Develop utility scripts to ease deployment processes.

Required Skills:

Hands-on experience implementing & configuring cloud environments (e.g. AWS, SalesForce, Azure)
Experience in implementing infrastructure as code
Experience in at least one technology/tool from each category:

Configuration Management: Ansible (preferred), Chef, or Puppet
Shell Scripting: BASH, PowerShell
Systems Administration: Linux (RHEL), Windows
CI/CD Tools: Jenkins, Go CD
Build Automation: Maven, Gradle
Version Management: Git (preferred), SVN
Web Server: Apache, Nginx, HAProxy
Programming Languages: Python, Ruby, Java
Agile Methodologies: Kanban (preferred), Scrum



Desired Skills:

Experience with Application Servers: JBoss
Experience with container technologies: Docker
Basic understanding for TCP/IP networking: subnetting and routing
Basic Relational Databases Administration: Postgres, MySQL, Oracle
Experience in Amazon Web Services (AWS). Supported design and development of the cloud operations with Cloudformation, VPC, ELB, AutoScaling, RDS, Route53, S3, and other AWS services

Qualifications/ Education:

Bachelor Degree in Computer Science or Engineering
