Digital Designer for Learning & Development

Capital One is seeking a Digital Designer for Learning & Development who can successfully handle both conceptual and nuts-and-bolts work—someone who understands how to create powerful marketing and design for multiple channels. This includes infographics, web, print and digital — including video direction, filming and production.

As a Digital Designer, you will be partnering with Financial Services (FS) Learning Managers and business leaders to deliver innovative and engaging digital design solutions in a fast paced, agile environment.  This role will require you to work closely with instructional designers and subject matter experts to shape the design of cutting edge content that supports the FS organization.

Daily responsibilities and activities could include but are not limited to:

- Developing creative concepts, graphics and layouts for presentation illustrations, learning initiatives and portals

- Developing print creative work including, but not limited to: Logos, Banners, Digital Magazines, Infographics

- Developing standardized graphics and templates for use in FS Learning digital solutions

- Curating all templates, photo libraries, and additional visual elements

- Serving as a catalyst for change to adopt new technologies, practices and processes

- Providing feedback and guidance to eLearning Developers around online course design

- Able to incorporate digital best practices into concepts

- A basic understanding of Adult Learning Theory

- A working experience with UX Design and/or prototyping

- The ability to work well under pressure; effectively handle tight deadlines, unexpected delays, revisions, ad hoc requests and changing priorities

- Experience in client facing consulting

- An understanding of the importance of creative strategy and using it to create powerful work with a digital focus; clearly presenting it to others for buy-in

- Consistent delivery of quality innovative work within deadlines

Valued but not required:

- Working knowledge of Storyline, Presenter, or Captivate

- Instructional Design background

- Working experience with Success Factors learning management system


- High school diploma, GED, equivalent certification or military experience

- Degree in Graphic Arts or at least 2 years’ experience in design, layout and illustration


- Bachelor’s Degree in Communication or Bachelor's Degree in Advertising or Bachelor's Degree in Graphic Arts

- 5+ years of experience in design, layout and illustration

- Proficiency using tools such as Adobe CS6 suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop)

- Proficiency in Adobe Acrobat Professional for interactive print projects

- Proficiency with HTML, CSS, Dreamweaver, Flash, Java

- Proficiency in audio and video editing tools
