Baxter Healthcare Corporation is seeking a dynamic leader who possesses strong organizational, communication and project management skills to fill the Director, Engineering position at our flagship pharmaceutical manufacturing facility in Western North Carolina.
As a member of the plant's Senior Leadership Team you will have overall business responsibility for a group of approximately 100 employees, an annual overhead spending budget of approximately $25 million and the management of facilities/site engineering and critical systems engineering at the North Cove facility. Essential duties and responsibilities include delivering short-term performance excellence, strategic planning for the department, creating a Lean Enterprise in all engineering functions, providing leadership in the development of new ideas, processes and techniques and the ability to maximize internal and external resources to meet business objectives.
The successful candidate is a strong communicator and team builder with a proven track record of results in a cGMP/FDA regulated manufacturing plant environment. Experience in creating a Lean Enterprise in an engineering environment is required; maintenance experience = predictive technologies, OEE, TPM, etc.; critical systems experience = distilled water, compressed air, electrical systems, room classifications, HVAC; history of engineering project management execution = On time, on budget with excellent quality; strong knowledge of engineering disciplines = distilled water systems, electrical systems distribution. Demonstrated history of innovation along with experience in contract & vendor negotiations plus a thorough understanding of business drivers, customer needs and global dynamics to create viable strategic plans is essential. BS in a related Engineering discipline with a minimum of 10 years technical management experience including cross-functional teams required with resource and budget management and strategic development experience desired.
