Director II Job Description
As part of IT Enterprise Architecture responsible for leading and managing direction of Enterprise Architecture Governance team and related activities. This includes Anthem's Enterprise Standards Governance team, Architecture Governance Review Board and the Architecture Community of Practice. Directs multiple work functions within the above governance ecosystem with the goal of maximizing IT investments for the company.
Primary duties may include, but are not limited to:
Interfaces with key business, Information business and Technology (IT) teams and solution vendors with respect to technology products and solution standards
Develops strategies to improve governance processes, gains buy-in and evangelizes them with key stakeholders
Guides the development of standards, reference architectures and EA best practices
Facilitates the development of metrics to report performance outcomes of governance programs and is responsible for communicating the effectiveness of these programs to stakeholders
Oversees the Architecture Governance Review Board and guides decision making with respect to solution recommendations. This includes analyzing the current business and IT environment to detect critical deficiencies and recommend solutions for improvement.
Oversees the Enterprise Standards Governance board which coordinates technology standards for the company with the goal of maximizing IT investment.
Oversees the Architecture Community of Practice which is responsible for facilitating the development and vetting of architectural policies, standards, guidelines, reference architectures and best practices.
Oversees strategic planning, budget development, and cost center management for the team
Hires, trains, coaches', counsels and evaluates performance of direct reports.
Contributes to the overall effectiveness of the Enterprise Architecture practice and collaborates with Enterprise Architects and other stakeholders to improve the practice and resolve issues.
Education and Experience
This is not a remote location or telecommute position you must relocate or live in : Atlanta GA,
Requires BA/BS in computer Science or related field; 8 years of IT management and experience in architecture/design and development. MBA is preferred.
Broad knowledge of architecture governance management, Enterprise Architecture frameworks and best practices
Strong understanding of new and emerging technologies
Health insurance industry experiences a plus.
Ability to balance Architectural & Business Strategies against the Project Delivery Goals to create effective recommendations to senior management that minimizes architectural debt
Ability to influence senior leaders, form partnerships and handle conflict
Extremely strong written, verbal and intrapersonal and problem solving skills
