Daytime Fresh Production Foreman exercises discretion in the oversight of the entirety of day fresh production activities to include cutting, packing, tray pack and sanitation.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
* Maintains efficiency in fresh production by initiating coordinating and enforcing standards, policy and procedures.
* Maintains and develops day production staff by hiring, orientating, training and developing.
* Responsible for scheduling and assignment of work and daily tasks of entire day production staff.
* Maintains day production staff job results by coaching, counseling, rewarding and disciplining employees; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results through reviews, written documentation, verbal communications, etc.
* Maintains physical condition of fresh production area by generating, planning and implementing new production layouts and ideas for enhancing productivity levels; inspecting equipment; issuing requests for repair and requisitions for replacement on equipment, etc.
* Manages daily usage of fresh production labor and supply costs. (i.e. Use of boxes, bags, overtime, etc.)
* Coordination of fresh production's effort to ensure quality and rotation of fresh product.
* Communication with other departments and lead personnel on fresh production issues that are essential to address on a daily basis.
* Identifies daily production issues needing to communicate with sales representatives, management
* Communication with director/manager on evaluation of production needs, issues, and modifications.
* Coordinate and conduct staff meetings to ensure proper communications on departmental and organizational issues as needed.
* Coordinate the completion of short sheets, cut sheets, HACCP documentation, and daily checklists.
* Security and safety of staff and work area through observation and correction of any safety/security violations and completion of daily Safety and Security check off sheets.
* Working knowledge of the Collective Bargaining Agreement to ensure compliance in accordance with the agreement.
Requirements:
* High School Diploma or equivalent (GED) required
* Background in manufacturing/production/warehouse required.
* A minimum of 1-2 years' previous supervisory experience
* Previous experience using Microsoft Office: Outlook, Excel, and Word.
* Inventory management or ERP system experience highly preferred
* Ability to work varied work schedules
* Must be reliable and responsible; and must have the ability to work independently with little direct supervision
