Visa Analytics has experienced great success in the way we develop and deliver insightful information to our internal and external clients. Our Data Product and Platform group is chartered to build cutting edge enterprise data products to enable Internal Business Units as well as external client. Data Product team plans to hire product evangelist who can think ideas and turn the same into tangible product using the technical acumen and partnering with cross functional team The Director of Data Product Development will be the technologist, change agent, thinker and story teller who can turn ideas into reality. This position will be based in Foster city office supporting Global Visa analytics and Global Business teams in understanding the data needs and recommending/executing product roadmap.


  • 7+ years of software product management experience in.

  • Experience with analytics, business intelligence or big data technologies with a core focus on product launch.

  • Minimum of 5 years of developer or equivalent experience in Big Data technologies.

  • Demonstrated experience with Big data technologies - Hadoop, Hive, HBase, Spark, Kafka, Data streaming technologies.

  • Ability to write custom codes and contribute to open source.

  • Experience with writing API specs and evangelizing platform usage.

  • Data Modeling and Data Architecture experience a huge plus.

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.

  • Ability to evangelize and translate product metrics into performance narratives.

  • A "driver" personality. Biased towards action. Never stop pushing for clarity and delivery.

  • Grittiness. Great team player and never hesitate to roll up your sleeves very frequently.

  • Ability to create Product Prototypes and write a cool Java script and turn into a apache UDF.

  • Bachelors in quantitative field e.g., engineering/sciences, computer science.

  • Ability to make data-driven decisions without succumbing to "analysis paralysis."

Nice to haves

  • Familiar with enterprise analytics tools, like Google Analytics, Tableau, Domo, GoodData, Adobe Analytics.

  • Familiar with agile development methodologies.

  • Partnering with cross-functional teams to ensure effective positioning, go-to-market strategy and execution.

  • Payment experience a huge plus.

  • Product sales experience as a technology person is a huge plus.
