The Director, Brand Innovation is a leadership role on eBay’s Brand Team, reporting to Sr. Director, Brand Creative. You will oversee the development activations within eBay’s Brand Lab that demonstrate what the brand stands for and showcase eBay’s role in everyday culture. Ultimately, the brand activations will help shape a more modern, relevant, and dynamic eBay. You’ll partner with agencies and internal teams of creatives, technologists, strategists, photographers, videographers, social media managers, designers, and more to hack, invent, prototype and activate concepts that help change perceptions of the brand, establish emotional connections, and engage the eBay community. In this role, you will be both a thought leader and a doer. You will help set the vision for the activations, own the storytelling around the ideas, and roll up your sleeves to create engaging content and test-and-learn experiences. You will also be in charge of the Brand Lab itself, developing the roadmap, identifying resource requirements, and partnering with key stakeholders throughout the company.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and build out the eBay Brand Lab including establishing best-in-class processes, KPIs, strategic alignment, and world-class creative output
  • Collaborate effectively with agency partners and internal teams including strategy, creative, regional and global teams
  • Inspire and sell-in brand activation concepts, ideate, prototype, and deliver brand-building activations
  • Drive a collaborative, positive culture where team members are empowered and set up for project success

Job requirements:

  • 10-15 years of creative industry experience in brand development, creative concepting, design, storytelling, innovation, or executing brand-building activations and campaigns
  • Ability to persuasively influence up and across organizations
  • Superior communication, presentation and facilitation skills
  • Ability to translate cultural trends, human insights, and business requirements into creative concepts and platforms across mediums including video, social, photography, retail, and other storytelling channels
  • Well-organized with impeccable attention to detail
  • Ability to lead, mentor, encourage and learn from a diverse and talented team
  • Strong understanding of best-in-class creative and design tools and technology trends and tools to prototype and deliver activations across digital channel
  • Proven track record delivering innovative products and/or campaigns, creatively solving problems, and engaging audiences via strategic and effective campaigns and/or experiences
