The Manager of Global Resource Management is a key contributor to the success of the Microsoft Services mission. This role is responsible for ensuring that the services business is effectively and proactively prepared with the appropriately skilled resources to sell and deliver solutions to help customers realize their full potential leveraging Microsoft technology, while also meeting the key goals and performance metrics of the Services business.
The Resource Management function for Enterprise Services Delivery (ESD) is responsible for activities related to analyzing and communicating the short-term, near-term and long-term resource needs of the services business.
Some of the key activities include:
ESD resource staffing and planning
Interface with recruiting and field hiring teams
Develop strategies to address immediate capacity surplus/short-falls
Collaborate with WW Services on tool and process improvements in support of resource management and workforce planning Some of the key focus areas for the Manager of Resource Management include:
Lead and coach the Global Capacity Management Domain teams in effectively leveraging resources across USES to fulfill customer demand
Drive tool and process improvements and efficiencies in staffing both Services and Partner resources
Integrate resource management into workforce planning, capacity planning, and readiness planning
Implement strategies to provide resource management for sustained YoY growth while driving cost efficiencies Influence field compliance and collaboration in support of effective and efficient resource staffing
Lead and coach team members in the complex planning of annual and quarterly capacity needs across Global Enterprise Services Delivery, in collaboration with multiple ESD teams and stakeholders. Ensures team members are evaluating appropriate business indicators in decision making
Lead integration of workforce planning efforts across ESD including Consulting and Premier to enable efficiencies and to ensure the most effective and efficient tools, processes and sources of information are being leveraged.
Ensure appropriate actions are being taken to fulfill agreed upon capacity needs, including but not limited to the following activities: hiring (by role, level, skill, location), right-sizing, readiness, re-skilling, partner strategies, co-sourcing, sharing of resources and sales.
People Management and Development:
Lead and manage teams of Delivery Resource Managers who: o Analyze and estimate the capacity needed to fulfill customer resource needs o Drive appropriate actions across multiple stakeholders to fulfill agreed upon capacity needs within timeframes needed o Staff delivery, partners and pre-sales resources at the right place, right time o Communicate capacity status, challenges and actions taken and/or needed o Drive process and/or tool improvements related to workforce planning and resource management in collaboration with business leaders and WW services.
