Job Description

The Property & Casualty division of the Claims Department is looking for an advanced analytical leader to support research and problem solving efforts across the entire department; working closely with the Product Management, Finance, Claims Technical and Field Claim groups. 

 

As the leader of the department’s data analytics strategy, you will be responsible for day-to-day research, analytics, and statistical techniques to solve business problems, including the build of advanced tools and queries for others to use.  Additionally, you will be involved in a number of countrywide, transformational, projects and have the opportunity to lead the analysis portion of those projects from start-to-finish and present conclusions to senior leaders.

 

The ideal candidate will be able lead a small team and work with a great deal of independence. 

Full people management responsibility, including: talent acquisition, performance and compensation management, as well as training and development.

 

Lead the gathering of data, analysis, and development of recommendations that provide insight into business results, drive Claims process enhancements, and support the organization’s financial and strategic objectives.

Define new or non-traditional metrics to drive enhanced insights across all claim key initiatives (e.g. Quality; Customer Centricity; Expense Management; Talent)

Drive projects to execution and implement a robust plan for measuring success.

Develop the reporting mechanisms necessary to effectively monitor the business.

Collaborate with internal partners to estimate and quantify the impacts of key initiatives.

Attract, develop and retain top talent and build high performing team and culture (e.g. 2-3 associates)

Present analysis on a regular basis to Claims senior management team in a fashion that translates complex work into an easy to digest story with an appropriate level of detail.

 

Required Qualifications

  • 7 -10 years of related business experience
  • Bachelor's degree in business, economics, engineering or other quantitative field.
  • Knowledge of the property & casualty industry, including Product Pricing, Underwriting, plus broad functional knowledge of Sales, Claims and Services and Actuarial/Pricing.

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Business Administration, Mathematics, Statistics, Finance, or Economics preferred
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills for exchanging information across multiple levels of management
  • Strong math, analytical, problem-solving, and research skills
  • Advanced knowledge of data sources, tools, statistical principles and methodologies, and techniques
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Power Point and Excel
  • Ability to solve complex business problems and present recommendations to senior management effectively
  • Excellent planning, organizational, analytical, and decision-making skills
  • Proven experience defining, shaping, and driving projects to completion while effectively collaborating with others with little supervision
  • Proven ability to establish and prioritize objectives and achieve desired results
  • Extraordinarily effective at leading and influencing others
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Impact and influence skills; ability to sell their positions
