PURPOSE OF ROLE

The primary purpose of this role is to provide insightful understanding of consumer decision-making, utilizing advanced

qualitative and quantitative customer research to inform decisions made by senior leadership. This position leads the

customer insights team who are responsible for conducting research and creating tools in order to derive meaningful,

innovative, and valuable insights into consumer behavior for Lowe's business.

RESPONSIBILITY STATEMENTS

• Performs advanced primary and secondary consumer research and data analysis in order to deliver actionable observations on how Lowe's as an organization can more effectively put the customer at the center of decision-making and capitalize on consumer insights

• Translates business challenges and opportunities into project ideas for the Customer Insights team, proactively seeking business leaders with ways in which Customer Insights can be beneficial to their function and reduce decision risk

• Leads customer insights projects, managing and delegating project work based on direct report capacity and expertise, ultimately ensuring that the final deliverables high-quality and provide impactful insights

• Determines the research resources utilized at Lowe's, maintaining a foundational compilation of internal and external research sources, syndicating multiple sources and performing analytics on them in a knowledgeable and thoughtful way

• Collaborates with senior leadership across functions, specifically Merchandising, Marketing, Customer Experience, International Business, and ProServices, in order to understand business needs and deliver cohesive, concise insights for ways in which Lowe's can more effectively capitalize on new consumers and existing consumers in order to ultimately grow market share

• Sets and adapts the ultimate strategy for the Customer Insights group, maintaining and strengthening the market positioning of Lowe's through deep and actionable understanding of the consumer

• Manages and develops a team of Customer Insights professionals with varying levels of expertise, ensuring that the team is compliant in regards to the standards of the Lowe's organization

• Maintains expert-level knowledge on emerging research trends and methodologies used to derive valuable consumer insights that drive the business of the Lowe's organization

• Responsible for remaining updated on tools and methodologies used in both quantitative and qualitative consumer research as well as preserving status as a recognized and renowned individual in the field of Consumer Insights

REQUIRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

Bachelor's Degree in Statistics, Economics, Business, Mathematics, applied sciences, or a related field

10 Years of Experience

5+ years leading mid-large group; depth of experience using tools such as SPSS, Decipher, WinCross and other advanced statistical tools, or depth of understanding of Ethnography and behavioral science; experience managing both qualitative and quantitative research acumen

Or

Master's Degree in Business or quantitative or qualitative research field

5-7 Years of Experience

5+ years leading mid-large group; depth of experience using tools such as SPSS, Decipher, WinCross and other advanced statistical tools, or depth of understanding of Ethnography and behavioral science; experience managing both qualitative and quantitative research acumen

PREFERRED

Master's Degree in Business or quantitative or qualitative research field

10 Years of Experience Effective leadership experience managing global team(s) in a retail environment; expertise using tools such as SPSS, Decipher, WinCross and other advanced statistical tools, or depth of understanding of Ethnography and behavioral science; experience managing both qualitative and quantitative research acumen
