The Global Technology Vendor Management Office (GTO VMO) is a newly created organization tasked with supporting MetLife’s Enterprise Application Development, Infrastructure & Architecture, and Regional Application Development organizations through a centralized supplier management function. The organization manages vendor relationships across the entire technology organization, working closely with the procurement office, but operating as a separate entity within GTO. VMO priorities will be to focus on best practices for managing suppliers in four key areas: Cost, Compliance, Reporting and Innovation

    

  • The Director of Effectiveness & Metrics role will collect and monitor SLA-related performance data, change order mechanisms, pricing, volume and all other aspects of contractual relationship with the vendor to develop and update vendor scorecard reporting.
  • The role will be responsible for implementing and executing key VMO strategies in an organization managing over $1B in annualized spend and a team of 5-10 resources.
  • VMO resource planning, process Improvement, Vendor Reporting, Budget, Financial and expense management, strategic program management.
  • Classify, rationalize and optimize the vendor portfolio and concentrate efforts on managing the most strategic vendors.
  • Aggregate and communicate key vendor data to stakeholders. Foster analytics-driven decisions based on this data.
  • Focus vendor performance metrics on business outcomes such as innovation, competitive advantage and increased revenue. Hold strategic suppliers to higher standards and drive continuous performance improvement. 

 

  • Bachelor’s required, major in business or technology related field preferred
  • 8+ years of IT and business/industry work experience, with at least 5 years managing projects and/or project portfolios.
  • 5+ years of leadership / management experience
  • Possess extensive knowledge and expertise in the use of portfolio or project management methodologies and tools, resource management practices and change management techniques.
  • Preferred: Project Management certification (PMP, Prince2); Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, or other related field
