As a key member of the MetLife Foundation/Corporate Contributions team, the position is responsible for developing, executing and overseeing global corporate initiatives and strategies that engage MetLife leadership and associates in traditional and skills-based volunteering and other activities with nonprofit organizations. These initiatives, implemented around the world, are designed to help and strengthen nonprofit organizations; reinforce the firm’s values and culture; differentiate the firm as a responsible corporate citizen; and advance recognition of the firm’s commitment to our employees and our communities.


The position is responsible for all aspects of MetLife Foundation’s volunteer and employee engagement program, including strategy development and design, implementation and oversight of local, regional and global initiatives. The position is also responsible for creating and managing relationships across global, diverse and multi-functional internal teams and with nonprofit organizations.



  • Develop global and regional strategic plans for employee engagement that broaden awareness of MetLife’s commitment to financial inclusion and volunteerism, enhance MetLife’s reputation and brand image and meet local and global needs.
  • Develop and implement aligned, high-impact volunteer and engagement programs at the local, regional and global levels.
  • Design, implement and manage a global and regional employee volunteer recognition program and award that recognizes outstanding performance.    
  • Cultivate strong, ongoing relationships with national, regional and global nonprofit partners. This includes developing and managing large, multi-year and high-visibility signature initiatives and grants.
  • Capture program results and learning and share in reports to MLF board of directors and regional presidents and with field and media in written reports, blogs and social media.



  • Undergraduate degree
  • Strong record of success in leading volunteerism and employee engagement programs, preferably with a large global corporation or NGO
  • 10 - 15 years of experience in volunteer and employee engagement program management 
  • Proven skill in strategic program development
  • Experience in large, complex for-profit institutions (e.g., working with multiple stakeholders across different business units and/or regional teams)
  • Strong research, analytical and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize work and manage multiple priorities
