POSITION SUMMARY: 
 
The Director, Endowments and Foundations role is responsible for the sales planning, development and execution of all Institutional Business in the under $100 million market primarily within the West Coast region of the country.
 
This role can be located anywhere in the Continental United States.
 
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
 
  • Design and implementation of a comprehensive strategic plan including but not limited to: identifying market opportunities, estimating potential growth, executing sales and promotional strategies to grow market share for Investment
  • Management and Administration Services for Endowments and Foundations and other institutional accounts. This position requires a client and partner centered consultative approach to sales and relationship management throughout the sales cycle.

 

CRITICAL AREAS FOR SUCCESS:


Relationship Management & Lead Generation
  • Establishes strategic working relationships with client-facing individuals across TIAA including but not limited to, Wealth Management and Individual and Institutional Client Services
  • Responsible for coordinating across product departments to increase participation in TIAA Institutional opportunities
  • Works with clients to develop solutions based upon the institutional needs and objectives of the organization
  • Develops institutional investment management and administration referrals and solutions for current and future clients
  • Develops qualified referrals through various external sources

Coaching, Partnership & Planning
  • Serves as subject matter expert and coach to Wealth Management Advisors and other client-facing roles regarding Institutional investment methodologies and processes
  • Participates in charting sales strategy and direction with the Wealth Management regional leadership team
  • Participates and contributes to internal training & development initiatives and sales meetings across designated region

 



QUALIFICATIONS:

 

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Minimum 7 years of experience in a sales/wholesaling capacity working with Institutions
  • Must have Series 7, Investment Advisor Registration (IAR) - Series 63, 65 (or 66).  Preferred Designations Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), Certified Investment Management Analyst (CIMA)
  • Ability to travel 70%

  • Superior sales, communication, analytical, negotiation, presentation and closing skills
  • Results driven with the ability to work both independently and in a team environment
  • Expert knowledge of financial and investment markets and investment solutions as applied to the Institutional and/or High Net-Worth segments
  • Current knowledge of technical requirements, complex federal and state laws and regulations applicable to the institutional investment and administration environment
  • Thorough understanding of competitive environment spanning institutional investment management, trust administration and financial services
