Director Experience Strategy and Design

We are looking for a leader of human-centered product and service design thinking and innovation to drive the transformation of the nation's largest and most complex health care transformations. You should be adept at the expert application of design thinking methods, and also facilitating service design sprints in a fast-paced environment. You'll be collaborating with high performing designers and health care experts to create innovative health care solutions that address the core needs of patients, doctors, brokers and employers. You'll also be driving service design sprints through a human-centered design process and guiding sprint teams to frame design challenges, collaborate on ideas, develop prototypes and test them with real users. Throughout the process, you'll have the opportunity to present your insights and recommendations to a diverse set of stakeholders (coworkers, sponsors and mentors).
Responsibilities will include (but not be limited to): defining the approach to service design sprints; coaching and advising designers through the sprint process; helping to establish priorities for sprints and appropriate resourcing; facilitating design workshops; presenting recommendations to senior management; interviewing consumers/patients and public speaking at conferences.

Extensive background in service (or product) design including Design Thinking, as well as the application of Lean and Agile. Requires a BA/BS in Service Design, Human Factors, Interaction Design, Human Computer Interaction (HCI), Product Design or related field. Masters preferred; 9 years' experience as hands-on design experience, including at least 3 years' experience managing and/or leading design teams; any combination of experience education , which would provide an equivalent background.
Professional and Educational Experience:
5 years of professional experience in Service Design, or related field, such as Visual Communication or Consumer Experience
Graduate degree in Service Design
2 years working in health care (e.g., pharmacy, health insurance, care delivery)
Previous management experience
Proficient in Adobe Creative Cloud programs (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Acrobat)
Proficient in Microsoft Suite (PPT, Word, Excel)
Ability to use and experience with prototyping applications
Design Thinking and Research Skills
Critical thinking and creative problem solving
Design research, sense-making and pattern recognition
Data visualization and storytelling (personas, journey mapping)
Facilitation and design leadership
