Director, Market Sensing and Technology Futurist, who is responsible for building and managing a sophisticated intelligence, analytics, and insights function for GE Ventures. Reporting to the Chief Commercial Development Officer (CCDO), the Lead will leverage best practices and capabilities from wider GE Centers of Excellence and agency partners to develop and execute qualitative and quantitative marketing research and intelligence programs.
This thought leader will be an integral partner to leaders across the organization, helping surface both qualitative and quantitative insights for more impactful marketing, to identify areas of growth and investment opportunities and to help establish GEV as the provocative and disruptive leader in the ecosystem. The Lead will also help drive the long-term market sensing strategy and advise on how the marketing organization will invest and optimize its budget. This will also include the publication of white papers and technology points of view.
+ Proactively identify and implement actionable insights and recommendations to enhance GEV activities, grow/scale the business and enable GEV to be recognized as an innovative thought-leader across market segments, within GE and in all key audiences.
+ Develop a 360-degree view of key GEV audiences (e.g., VCs, entrepreneurs, portfolio companies, internal stakeholders, academic institutions, etc.), conduct segmentation and targeting, and build GEV position and point of view statements, engagement, qualification and response models
+ Leverage both qualitative and quantitative data and insights to inform and optimize program GEV and cross BU strategy.
+ Serve as an ambassador for GE, speaking, writing and evangelizing Industrial Digital Transformation.
+ Continuously communicate and build awareness in data sets and marketing intelligence insights and technologies that have net new transformative impact on GE.
+ Manage sales and marketing data environments and identify gaps in data as well as opportunities to improve
+ Bachelor's degree; educational or work experience in Strategy, Analytics and/or Solutions Engineering
+ 15+ years of related functional experience across multiple sub-sectors
+ Proven effective in quantitative and qualitative analysis (survey architecture, modeling, data mining, financial/business impacts) as well as ability to synthesize and concisely articulate key implications
+ Experience managing large, complex, strategic, and collaborative relationships
+ Ability to lead and participate in strategic discussions and present to C level key output
+ Excellent critical thinking and analytical skills
+ Strong interpersonal communication and presentation skills
+ Proactive, self-directed, creative, strategic thinking and able to implement plan via a well thought out process
+ The candidate must demonstrate proven success in an entrepreneurial environment
+ Willing to travel approximately 30% of the time
+ Master's degree in Marketing, Data / Analytics, Economics, Strategy, Mathematics, or equivalent and undergraduate in engineering or strong technical space
+ Prior experience in quantitative analysis, data, and informatics; proficiency in qualitative intelligence development leveraging business and marketing intelligence partners, vendors, tools and programs
+ Outstanding communication, leadership and organizational skills; Strong presenter and ability to provide contextualization for key technology segments
+ Experience with advanced research and technology applications, industry analytics and strategy development
+ Able to work independently. Formulate and execute a self-driven engagement plan
+ Able to organize, prioritize, and manage multiple projects, initiatives, stakeholders and vendors/partners simultaneously with appropriate sense of urgency
+ Able to learn new industries, customers and technologies and translate value to internal clients and external customers and audiences
+ Able to analyze, interpret, draw conclusions, and implement solutions on a variety of complex issues
