Role Purpose Gartner has a significant untapped market opportunity, and the Corporate Marketing Strategy and Operations team plays a critical role in helping capture that opportunity. We’re looking for world-class talent to join our team. The Director of Marketing Analytics is responsible for leading the activities to develop customer/prospect insights to drive strategic decisions, generate accurate and timing analytics, identifying and monitoring key business driving metrics, providing transparency of results to key business leaders, presenting data driven options and recommendations, and ensuring informed decision making.

Major Responsibilities/ Accountabilities
• Leads the development and delivery of the marketing analytics roadmap for Corporate Marketing in pursuit of real-time/on-demand analytics and insights that maximize ROI for the business
• Performs ad hoc, in depth data mining and predictive modeling to enable strategic business decisions
• Develops a team and a culture of innovation in leveraging data for insights and decisioning in a scalable and consistent manner
• Identifies high propensity customer segments, activities that influence conversion/high value transactions as well as opportunities for analytic process improvements and solutions that empower the business and reduce data dependency on IT
• Contributes to major campaign planning by developing channel mix models that inform distribution of high return investments
• Owns analytics and monthly performance reporting across all marketing channels including but not limited to Event, Webinar, Email, Website, SEO and Paid Digital as well as across key marketing initiatives such as Lead Management, Propensity Modeling and Sales Attribution
• Specifically owns the Web Analytics function – providing strategic insight and guidance to business partners, measurement planning, dashboard builds and establishing process for effective change management as it relates web analytics tracking code for new or changed web pages to ensure superior data quality
• Tracks engagement and consumption patterns to inform content development and targeting strategies
• Implements and manages a disciplined cost management system and reconciliation process for performance / profitability analysis
• Partners with Marketing, Sales Operations, Product, Event Operations and other business partners to understand their needs and provide insight, support and guidance for making informed operational and strategic decisions in the form of measurement plans, detailed performance analysis and financial/response modeling for marketing channels, prospect segments and Gartner servicing resources
• Cultivates strong and mutually respectful relationships across the organization; partners with leadership to solve problems and identify business improvement opportunities


Job Requirements:
Education Requires degree in quantitative field (Mathematics, Finance, Computer Science, Engineering, Economics, etc.); MBA preferred

Professional Experience
• 7+ years of progressive experience in Marketing/Business Analytics

Technical/ Professional Skills & Competencies
• No limits mind set with track record of delivering analytics that demonstrate your business acumen and move the business forward
• Experienced and comfortable applying statistics and regression analysis to marketing subject matter
• Comfortable writing code for business logic in modern BI tools such as Alteryx, R, Python, SAS, etc.
• Experience using modern data visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau, Spotfire, Qlick, etc.) to build dashboards / reports that tell performance stories
• Advanced Excel skills a must, including experience building custom macros using VBA
• Excellent verbal and written communication, including ability to tailor communication to audience to achieve desired results
• Comfortable handling ambiguity, able to anticipate and adapt to change, is flexible and resilient
• Ability to effectively engage and lead senior leaders in the development of solutions for our most critical business initiatives
• Experience successfully leading analytics projects across business functions
• People & team leadership experience required
