We are looking for a new Director of Med/Surg/Telemetry, responsible for the management of the day-to-day operation of our 5 Central, Med/Surg/Telemetry Unit and for direct supervision of assigned personnel. The position requires intimate knowledge of both department and hospital policies and procedures relevant to the delivery of nursing care. Interpretive skills, frequent interactive and consultative associations along with management and supervisory skills are inherent in the position. The ability to retrieve, communicate or otherwise present information in a written, auditory or visual fashion is essential. Written, computer, telephone skills and manual dexterity are required. Specific responsibilities include nursing quality improvement, policies and procedures, productivity, staffing and scheduling, program development and special projects. Responsible for providing input into the development of department specific operating budgets, accountable for management of operating budget(s), providing input into capital supply and equipment needs, investigating and reporting variances.
The Nursing Director is responsible to the Chief Nursing Officer for nursing services provided in his/her assigned department(s). The Nursing Director creates a common vision to facilitate quality improvement in the delivery of patient care in support of the organization's mission, vision and values. He/she is also responsible for the supervision of assigned personnel. The Nursing director assumes the role of a leader in planning, organizing, coaching and facilitating his/her department functions and staff to assure quality service on a twenty-four hour basis or when the department(s) are operating. He/she is responsible for meeting The Joint Commission standards, complying with the organization's policies and procedures, managing supplies and equipment on his/her unit(s), promoting teamwork with physicians and multidisciplinary heath care providers, promoting internal and external customer satisfaction and appropriate resource management.
Graduated from an accredited school of nursing. Level entry training may be a Diploma Program in Nursing, an Associate Degree in Nursing or a Bachelor's Degree in Nursing
Florida RN License
American Heart Association BLS Health Care Provider
At least one-three years of experience as staff nurse.
