Largo Medical Center is an all private room, 425-bed statutory teaching hospital serving Tampa Bay area residents from three locations in Pinellas County. The hospital's Transplant Institute of Florida is one of only eight programs in the state performing kidney transplant services with liver transplants added in 2016.
The hospital features a wide of comprehensive programs including behavioral health, Florida Breast Institute, cardiovascular services including a certified Afib & Heart Rhythm Center (SCPC), clinical research, Company Care occupational health, emergency care, imaging and diagnostic services, knee care at the Florida Knee and Orthopedic Pavilion, inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation, spine and neurological care at the Florida Spine & Neuro Center and weight loss/bariatric surgery at the Florida Bariatric Centers.
The Nursing Director is responsible for total management of nursing areas assigned under him/her, including hiring, firing, competency, and supervision of personnel; directing, planning, and organizing patient care activities; policy development; budgeting; maintaining safe environment; ensuring good customer service & quality of care in accordance with mission, vision and values of the hospital and the Patient Care Departments. Monitors direct patient care (and assists with patient care if needed). Performs others duties supportive to the Patient Care Departments to include being the resource person to the safety officer on issues of risk reduction in the patient care areas. Other duties to support the patient care departments include participation in committees, staff education, policy development, relief house supervision, and other duties as assigned.Qualifications:
- Current RN licensure in the State of Florida from an accredited school of nursing,
- BSN required
- Minimum of five years of clinical management experience in the psychiatric and/or behavioral health unit within the hospital setting
