Adecco is assisting a local client recruiting for a Director of Distribution and Logistics position. As the Director of Distribution and Logistics, you will be responsible for managing warehousing, shipping, transportation, and customer service. You will also implement processes in an operational transformation focused on delivering excellent customer service. This position requires strong leadership skills, action oriented decision making, data analysis capability, and the aptitude to drive consistency and efficiency with little direction. Responsibilities for this position include:
-Develop managers and associates in each department; providing continual leadership, guidance and training to ensure all associates are adequately trained, knowledgeable and familiar with job requirements.
-Ensure a company-wide high level of commitment to organizational objectives and support of the customer experience.
-Prepare and review annual budgets, business plans, and operating goals and objectives.
-Facilitate production of weekly/monthly annual reporting and analysis of results to budget providing insight and trends.
-Develop ROI models and evaluate savings vs. projections for capital investments and improvements.
-Ensure compliance to accounting policies to meet internal expectations and audit controls.
-Utilize key performance indicators to support operational performance.
-Provide subject matter expertise and analysis for potential company acquisitions and mergers.
-Complete operational leadership for distribution and logistics operation, including warehouse, shipping, and transportation.
-Focus on improved measurement and execution of customer service performance.
-Upgrade current capabilities by developing team, improving processes, and identifying technology enablers.
-Introduce continuous improvement methodologies to deliver results in safety, service, quality and cost.
-Develop strategy and overall operation of centralized transportation and distribution.
-Deploy best practices throughout network.
-Ensure strict compliance to all OSHA/DOT/EPA regulations.
-Successfully manage team task, staffing levels and goals by providing work direction to the operational team; delegate work accordingly and setting priorities.
-Ensure that associates and departments adhere to Company's Standard Operating Procedures.
-Set performance goals which are tailored to each department. Develop operational goals for each department which are aggressive that meet short-term and long-term objectives of the organization.
-Oversee (with HR) the implementation of effective HR programs to build core competencies and organizational values.
-Coordinating activities in a multi-facility environment.
-Bachelor's Degree in Business Management, Supply Chain, Production Operations or equivalent fields of study.
-Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in distribution, transportation sales & operations planning, and customer service.
-Strong collaboration, negotiation, and management skills.
-Experience in implementing and utilizing software applications supporting supply chain capabilities.
-Positive attitude and strong ethics.
-Knowledge of multi modal transportation, including parcel, truckload, and ocean freight.
-Knowledge of all city, state, and federal wage and labor regulatory laws and requirements.
