Position Summary:

The Education Director provides leadership through planning, organizing, coordinating, monitoring and evaluating the services provided by the Education Department. The individual supports expert clinical nursing practice through consultation, role modeling, education, research and staff development. Responsibilities include management of growth, finance, quality, human resource, ethical and operational functions of the department. Maintains 24 hour accountability for all operational aspects of the department.

  1. Position Requirements:
A. Licensure/Certification/Registration:
Current Registered Nurse license in the State of Colorado .
Current BCLS certification.
Clinical Nurse Specialist certification preferred.

B. Education:
Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
Bachelor of Science in Nursing.
Masters of Science in Nursing or related field.

C. Experience:
Minimum of 5 years relevant clinical experience required.
Previous management experience preferred.

D. Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Comprehensive knowledge of the practice and scope of nursing with the ability to plan and provide for delivery of educational services. Demonstrates comprehensive knowledge of the principles of adult education and the ability to recognize the educational needs of the staff. Ability to communicate professionally and effectively using various methods.
