The Medical Staff Services Director works closely with the V.P. of Quality & Risk Management in developing and maintaining a dedicated service for the medical staff. This individual is responsible for coordinating all medical staff activities, and will serve as the liaison between the Medical Staff, Administration, and other departments.
The Medical Staff Services Director performs credentialing functions to assure appropriate and timely assessment of appointments and reappointments to the Medical Staff and the Allied Health Professional Staff, delineation of privileges, and other associated credentialing functions.
The Medical Staff Services Director is responsible for coordinating the essential medical staff committee structure in conjunction with the medical staff leadership. This includes preparing agendas, notices, minutes and follow-up for medical staff committees/departments.
The Medical Staff Services Director will oversee the medical staff library and associated requests for journal/magazine searches. She/he will coordinate with The Center for Research & Education, the monthly continuing medical education programs and other programs as deemed necessary by administration and/or the medical staff leadership.Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in health care, business, or a related field of study, or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
- Certified Medical Staff Coordinator/Manager (CMSC) preferred; or must be eligible for certification and obtain CMSC certification within one year of employment.
- Minimum of three years comprehensive experience as a medical staff services professional within an acute care setting.
