Current Need

This position is responsible for directing RelayHealth’s Pharma product management team to attain the near and longer term P&L objectives of the business unit.  Will work with the pharma product management team, the VP of Product Management and VP of Product strategy and business development, Business development team and other stakeholders to develop enhancements to existing products and develop new, innovative products within the targeted markets to maintain and grow RelayHealth’s  market share, profit and leadership position.  The Product Director is responsible for the success of the products as measured by the product P&L.

Responsibilities

  • Pharma product portfolio P&L

  • Direct a  team of Product managers

  • Product life cycle management (Concept to end-of-life)

  • Manage the product portfolio and pipeline, according to established objectives and accepted operational processes

  • Maximize market potential through in-depth understanding of customer needs, industry trends, and market requirements

  • Position RelayHealth solutions compared to competition and alternative solutions, including pricing, value, functionality, and other measurements

  • Develop product value propositions and positioning of RelayHealth solutions with pharmaceutical manufacturers, pharmacies and other segments as they evolve

  • Collaborate with sales leadership, sales executives, account managers, business partners, customers, and other McKesson business units to understand customer and market needs and determine how RelayHealth can best satisfy those needs

  • Ensure product development schedules meet customer and market needs

 

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements
8+ years of product management experience including 5+ years managerial experience

Critical Skills

  •  BA/BS  Degree, MBA a plus
  • 10+  years of product management leadership, managing people
  • 5+ years managing P&Ls
  • 5+ years (recent)  experience with  pharmaceutical manufacturers  or pharmaceutical – related  industries and products
  • Sales experience a plus
  • Travel - Up to 25%

  • Demonstrated success in Product management processes, methodologies
  • Demonstrated ability and success in pricing products
  • Demonstrated success in launching  products and gaining market share
  • Outstanding verbal (presentation) and written communication skills
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Ability to effectively multi-task in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to visualize and/or contribute to the presentation of an idea or project (from concept and design to presentation)
  • Strong understanding of various business areas of companies (such as IT, legal, sales, marketing, service) and how each area contributes to the effective management of new initiatives
  •  Ability to quickly adapt and adjust to change
  • Results orientation
