Johnson & Johnson Services Inc., a member of Johnson & Johnson's Family of Companies, is recruiting for a Director Product Value Stream Management – Global Process Leader located in Bridgewater, NJ (preference with consideration for other locations.)

The J&J Supply Chain continues to evolve its strategy to be the best supply chain in the world. As part of the journey, the role of Director Global Process Leader for Product Value Stream Management deploys the mechanism to drive towards defining and integrating E2E Customer and Product Focused Value Streams. The leader ensures that standardized and harmonized processes are built and interact in an integrated way, ensuring agility, reliability and quality for the customer while improving the performance for J&J.

The role will drive towards a consistent and Best-in-Class Product Value Stream Strategy, Governance, Process, Tool, Standards, System and Measurements to institutionalize Best-in-Class Product Value Streams across the segments.


The leader in this position will ensure that:

The tools and methodologies are developed to define the distinct Product Value Stream activities and define how activities interact/should interact and drive competitive advantage. 

Standardized and harmonized processes for defined Product Value Streams are built and interact in an integrated way, ensuring agility, reliability and quality for the customer and improved performance for J&J. 

This includes the integration of our Supply Chain macro processes with R&D, Marketing and Customer processes, how they interact in a planned, directive and yet adaptive way that satisfy customer requirements and help to improve J&J’s performance.

The leader will deploy Best Practice Processes for Product Value Stream Management, including execution of Product Strategy Roadmaps, optimization of product portfolio and complexity management, and product Performance management, amongst others.


The position will be essential to deliver the JJSC strategy by:

  • Deploying and driving the implementation of E2E Product Value Stream Management and strategy tools and processes across the segments
  • Actively facilitating, leading and supporting the Product Value Stream Strategies deployment and implementation by strong partnerships with the segments

JJSC S&D Leadership Team, Segment S&D Teams, Product Supply Leadership Team, JJOS Leadership, Segment Product Management Leadership Teams, External and Internal Customers, R&D and Regulatory Partners, Commercial Partners, Customer Insight Partners, IT organization

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate and facilitate a robust and deep understanding of Product Value Stream Drivers and quantify their worth, in collaboration with the Segments;
  • Develop and deploy the Product Value Stream management concept to allow for the organization to examine in a systematic way all the activities performed in relation to a product and how they interact,
  • Drive the implementation of strategic integration between the Supply Chain and other relevant functions (including regulatory, Medical Safety, etc.) through the deployment of Product Value Stream Teams in the segments;
  • Ensure that standardized and harmonized processes for defined value streams are built and interact in an integrated way, ensuring agility, reliability and quality for the customer and improved performance for J&J. 
  • Assist to deliver a Road Map  for the deployment of Product Value Stream management within the segments;
  • Assist in driving  the leverage of investments in common tools, processes and capabilities
  • Identify linkages in common tools, process and capabilities across JJOS Level 1, 2 and 3
  • Support the effective Strategic Step Change Process from a Silo Approach to an integrated E2E focus in each of and between the Core Process areas which enable collaboration across the functional teams, including Commercial, R&D, Regulatory, Procurement, Quality.
  • Develop and deploy a Product Strategy Roadmap process to consolidate Customer Insights and translate those into Supply Chain Competitive Advantages.
  • Develop tools and core process to provide global, integrated solutions to the Segments to deliver High Value Products to our Customers.
  • Implement Tools and Processes to the Segments to monitor and optimize E2E Product Value Stream management and ensure Flawless Execution, while installing Controls
  • Develop and deploy a common Life Cycle Management approach and processes (e.g. life cycle management, strategic roadmaps, performance dashboards, issue management)  to pro-actively optimize the Supply Chain performance throughout the life cycle of the product
  • Develop and deploy best-in-class tools and processes to optimize the product portfolio (including portfolio complexity reduction), in alignment with the defined value chains.
  • Develop strong relationships with the Cross Segment Product Value Stream Management Community of Practice
  • Improve Product Value Stream Capabilities by deploying Learning and Development Programs
  • Support the establishment of a Product Value Stream Community across J&J that ensures Communication, Education, Training and Succession Planning for an Integrated Talent Community related to Value Chain capabilities.
  • Collaborate and Integrate with other S&D leaders, Supply Chain Leaders in the segments, Commercial, R&D, and External Partners to develop and deploy the Product Value Stream Framework in the Segments to deliver on aligned JJSC goals.
  • Synchronize efforts driven from the S&D JJSC team to deliver “best in class supply chain” vision
  • Collaborate closely with the IT organization to ensure processes are enabled by systems, tools and technology solutions and the standardized, harmonized processes will enable the use of common tools and information systems.
  • Develop and deploy a Standard Set of Product Value Stream Metrics and Dashboard.
  • Review, develop and improve Standard Business Processes as well as the Maturity Model Process and Benchmarking for those Processes in collaboration with each Segment.
 


Qualifications
  • Undergraduate degree in engineering, business, finance or supply chain disciplines.  Graduate degree/studies in related discipline/MBA are preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years of supply chain experiences that may include (but not exclusive) health care, pharmaceuticals, consumer products, medical device.
  • Minimum of 8-10 years of leadership of teams, processes, include multi-layer management.
  • Track record of successfully delivered supply chain/value chain improvements with end to end leadership experience preferred.   
  • Understanding main concepts and principles of Product Development and Design
  • Experiences in working with R&D Partners where use of Supply Chain insights and expertise contributed to enhance strategies of Product Value Stream design
  • Strong analytical and process skills and executive presentation skills
  • Strategy development and project management across the organization, with measurable, financial, quality and cycle time results
  • Understanding the linkages from product development through manufacturing and delivery to the customer
  • Creating strong relationships across multiple functions and businesses
  • Driving alignment on strategy and approach with senior leadership
  • Building consensus and driving impact without always having line authority. Ability to negotiate trade off decisions across the organization (Influencing Skills)
  • Inspiring and leading across extremely diverse organizations in terms of size, scope, and experience
  • Change management and project management experience

  • Previous experience in driving broadly based culture change.

  • The preferred location for this position is Bridgewater, NJ, but consideration for other locations based on skill set and experience level will apply. This position may require up to 50% domestic and international travel based on location.
