Director, Site Affairs Outreach and External Partnership

Reporting to the Cambridge Site Lead for Site Affairs and External Partnerships, the Director, Site Affairs Outreach and External Partnerships candidate will lead and facilitate a wide array of activities related to external alliances, establish partnerships with key business and scientific networks, host important visitors and guests to the site, and help Site Leadership to illustrate and communicate our commitment to scientific excellence, innovation and technology, and colleague development. The position will work closely with senior leaders and other staff within the Pfizer Cambridge R&D site to enhance Pfizer's presence in the Cambridge/Boston biomedical ecosystem. External Outreach and Pfizer Reputation in the Cambridge Ecosystem In partnership with Site Affairs Lead, develop and implement a systematic approach to expanding Pfizer's external outreach in the Cambridge ecosystem Create and maintain a database of top-priority academic partners across Pfizer's therapeutic areas of interest and key business partnerships and associations that would benefit the Kendall Square site and RU portfolio. Implement a site-wide patient foundation partnership strategy with patient advocacy groups in collaboration with Research Units and Medical Affairs Maintain a "network map" of ongoing partnerships to articulate existing connections and identify key gaps Represent Pfizer at local business and community associations (e.g. Kendall Square Association, MassBio, Cambridge Chamber of Commerce) Shaping Pfizer Brand through Partnership with Internal Stakeholders Coordinate visits and tours to the Kendall Square site by external guests and manage the interface with Corporate Affairs. Speak on behalf of Pfizer leadership to external guests conducting lab tours and overview of our scientific portfolio. Provide logistical support for ad hoc events. Develop and foster strong partnership with other members of the Kendall Square Site Affairs and Operations team. Develop a strategy and budget for, and oversee Pfizer Cambridge's community donations and sponsorships that supports local needs, is aligned with Pfizer mission and is viewed as engaging to Kendall Square colleagues. Identify, promote and lead volunteer opportunities for Pfizer Cambridge and Boston colleagues and ensure staff are aware of sponsored events Lead the United Way Campaigns and other site-wide campaigns Build a coordinated system that collects and disseminates information on local seminars and symposia. Respond to inquiries about site culture and suggestions for improvement Assist in building site connectivity with the local Cambridge/Boston community by ensuring that colleagues are aware of local events, seminars and symposia and by coordinating events involving the community. Develop program assessment tools that will measure Pfizer impact on the community, increased colleague interaction with the Cambridge ecosystem. Prepare reports and business justification for funding, as needed. Qualifications: Advanced degree in scientific field highly preferred Minimum of 5-8 years of work experience in drug discovery Strong desire for a colleague that has worked in the Cambridge scientific community and has a track record for partnerships in the local ecosystem.
