Join GE Digital in building the future of Industrial IOT. As the Director of Development Tools you will lead a team in implementing and maintaining crucial infrastructure for all GE software engineers. Using a strong DevOps approach your team will deploy tools on OpenStack or AWS infrastructure. Come prepared to plan out best practices for software development teams to incorporate into their continuous delivery release cycles. Your team will be responsible for 50k users taking advantage of software lifecycle tools such as: Github, Artifactory, Jira, Rally and Confluence.
+ Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or in "STEM" Majors (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math)
+ A minimum of 10 years' experience of Linux administration, configuration, and in-depth trouble shooting
+ A minimum of 2 years' of management experience leading a DevOps team
+ Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required. We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas, now or in the future, for this job.
+ Must be willing to travel (10%)
+ Must be willing to work out of an office located in San Ramon, CA
+ Experience with Agile or Lean Software development
+ Amazon Web Services VPC, EC2, S3
+ Experience in administering mission-critical and large-scale web applications
+ Programming ability in at least one scripting or shell language, such as Ruby, Python, or Perl and Bourne/Bash shell script
+ Experience with Chef, Puppet, Ansible, SaltStack, or other automation framework
+ System monitoring (Nagios, Splunk, NewRelic, Sensu, etc.)
+ Disaster recovery planning and implementation
+ Proven ability to scale applications horizontally with an engineering team
+ Experience maintaining critical development tools from Github or Atlassian
+ Strong written and verbal communication skills
+ AWS network and security certifications are a plus
+ Ability to coordinate and work with a team
+ Ability to work in a fast paced environment
