The Director Supply Chain reports directly to the Executive Director Supply Chain Excellence and Innovation.

Accountabilities & Responsibilities:

Accountable for the deployment of the supply chain strategy and direction setting to drive excellence in process performance across the supply chain value stream.

Drive development and implementation of the global capability road map (people, technology, processes and performance) to improve and integrate the sourcing business processes supporting Amgen's global manufacturing and packaging network.

Develop and drive business cases for governance approval of projects within the source network, and act as an expert, advisor, mentor and coach for the network.

Leading a team of Global Business Process Improvement Managers and Technology Experts that design, develop and audit the global supply chain policies and guidelines, (re) designs business processes and technology solutions and develops strong relations with the local subject matter experts.

Develop insights through effective use of research, analytics and benchmarking to inform strategic decision making.

Lead and manage portfolio of strategic initiatives to improve supply chain capabilities.

Ensure appropriate business process documentation including process flows, operating procedures, process ownership and the supporting technology.

Ensure risks are identified, and a coherent set of leading and lagging performance indicators is in place to control and improve the process.

Establish and monitor a global training curriculum aimed at clarifying and maturing business processes.

Develop talent to ensure business continuity and supporting business growth.

30% domestic and international travel

Basic Qualifications

Doctorate degree and 4 years of Supply Chain experience
OR
Master's degree and 8 years of Supply Chain experience
OR
Bachelor's degree and 10 years of Supply Chain experience
AND
4 years of managerial experience directly managing people and/or leadership experience leading teams, projects, programs or directing the allocation of resources

Preferred Qualifications

10+ years of Supply Chain and Operational Excellence experience in regulated industry

Master's degree or equivalent in Supply Chain Management or Business Administration or Industrial Engineering

Experience in business process re-engineering and developing and implementing technology solutions

Experience in working in a global environment, ability to liaise/communicate effectively at different management levels

Fluency in English: written and oral

Ability to liaise/communicate effectively and easily with cross-functional teams and different cultures

Good understanding of GMP and pharmaceutical regulations
