**This position requires you to work onsite in Nashville, TN everyday.

Summary of Position:
The Director leads a service organization that strives to identify and exceed the expectations of its customers. The Director collaborates with multiple Sarah Cannon departments and key HCA colleagues to develop and implement clinical, research and oncology curriculum and educational programs. Additionally, the Director serves as a key resource for company-wide initiatives that include an educational component.

Duties and Responsibilities

Duties include but are not limited to:
  • Participate in strategic planning with Sarah Cannon leaders and enterprise stakeholders, establishing long- and short-term objectives, priorities and budgets for areas of responsibility
  • Liaise with business units to develop educational curriculum and plans as needed
  • Develop and foster relationships with key HCA colleagues to leverage and collaborate on training offerings
  • Assume lead role for innovation, knowledge sharing and leading practices within the department and among peer groups
  • Sets high expectations for best in class creative educational content consistent with adult learning principles and generational learning needs
  • Support Sarah Cannon company-wide initiatives in the development of educational programs (i.e. oncology and research curriculum for Sarah Cannon colleagues, HCA facility colleagues and patients, etc.)
  • Develop business cases to propose and implement new strategies, services, and tools that advance training development and delivery and address departmental operational issues
  • Oversee the creation and development of curriculum-based training utilizing instructor-led training, web-based training modules, self-study guides, demonstration models, multimedia visual aids, computer tutorials, and reference materials to educate and train applicable staff
  • Develop and administer tools to analyze the effectiveness of training programs and measure progress of participants
  • Oversee continuing education program(s) and provide educational offerings for staff
  • Consult in the creation and development of curriculum for division and hospital specific orientation programs
  • Manage education projects and resources, to include oversight of IT&S Learning Solutions resources and/or contractors, as necessary
  • Hire, supervise and mentor department resources, direct day-to-day activities and conduct staff performance reviews
  • Develop, guide and maintain departmental practices, methodologies, policies and procedures, and quality control
  • Oversee and manage the Summer Work Experience program
  • Travel required

Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications

Education:
Minimum Required: Master's Degree (1-2 year program)
Preferred: Doctorate Degree

Experience:
Minimum Required:
  • Previous experience as a Manager or Director providing strategic level impact
  • Development of IT, Healthcare and or Operational training curriculums
  • Ability to supervise learning innovations resources, including training associates as well as clinical, research and PRN educators
  • Oncology experience
  • RN certification required
Preferred:
  • Research experience - preferred
  • Demonstrated leadership skills
  • Prior experience mentoring and/or training less senior team members
  • Experience managing study timelines, deliverables, and/or vendors
