Amgen is seeking a Director US Commercial IS-Data and Analytics (Director Information Systems) at its main headquarters in Thousand Oaks, CA to join the Global Commercial Operations Information Systems (GCOIS) to shape our next generation data operating model supporting US Commercial Operations (USBO). This position will report to the Executive Director Information Systems and will be responsible for developing and implementing the Data and Analytics strategy, services, and capabilities.
GCOIS provides technology and services to the US commercial business ensuring our patients have best access to existing and new products though support of Sales and Marketing, Value and Access organizations. Transforming existing technologies to drive efficiencies and effectiveness of data throughout commercial processes and seeking out new technologies that will be critical in the ever-changing space of pharma
Setting USBO IS vision and strategy for data and analytic platforms to support commercial operations, driving organizational change and influencing staff and stakeholders
Overseeing the comprehensive delivery of IS capabilities to support data and analytics for effective decision making
Assessing the effectiveness of current IS capabilities, setting vision and strategic direction utilizing organizational savvy, business acumen and industry trends
In collaboration with business stakeholders design, deliver and maintain multi-year portfolio capability and technology roadmaps
Coach, motivate, and lead direct reports and others in the department
Interprets potential organizational impacts of trends, strategies and events to anticipate key stakeholder needs
Doctorate degree and 4 years of Information Systems experience
OR Master's degree and 8 years of Information Systems experience
OR Bachelor's degree and 10 years of Information Systems experience
4 years of managerial experience directly managing people and/or leadership experience leading teams, projects, programs or directing the allocation of resources
Excellent executive level influencing skills, with demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and effectively with key business partners, IT leadership teams, and external services providers.
Demonstrated ability for strategic IT planning and roadmap development.
Working knowledge of LEAN/AGILE software development methodologies.
Experience in enhancing organizational talent through staff development.
Strong influence and leadership skills, ability to operate across boundaries (internally/externally)
Experience in the pharmaceutical and/or healthcare industry
Organizational change management and project management skills
