Pharmaceutical Research & Development, L.L.C., a member of the Johnson
& Johnson Family of Companies, is recruiting for a Biologics Development
Sciences (BDS) Co-op to be based in Spring House, PA. Janssen Research &
Development (Johnson & Johnson) Pharmaceutical Research & Development,
L.L.C., develops treatments that improve the health and lifestyles of people
worldwide. Research and development areas encompass novel targets in neurologic
disorders, gastroenterology, oncology, infectious disease, diabetes,
hematology, metabolic disorders, immunologic disorders, and reproductive
medicine. The duration of this co-op is April to September 2017.
The co-op will support the BDS group, a part of Johnson & Johnson Pharmaceutical Research & Development, specifically within the Drug Metabolism Pharmacokinetics (DMPK) group. The DMPK group is responsible for the development of plate based assays in which ultimately determine pharmacokinetic profile of the drug in vivo. Prior to in vivo determination, plate based assays are developed and the student will aid in the reagent pairing process utilizing new technologies and various platforms. The project will aim to cover both current and promising new practices within DMPK in order to explore potential process improvements thus making development time more efficient. The project will evaluate both 96- and 384-well assays on multiple platforms as well as integrate automated liquid handling and new versions of data analysis.
