Position Summary:
  • The Echocardiography technician shall be responsible for performing 2D/M-Mode, Doppler, and Transesophogeal ECHOs.
  • This shall also include processing of all reports as well as performing other duties in the diagnostic cardiology department.

Qualifications:
Position Requirements:

A. Licensure/Certification/Registration:
  • Registered or eligible for credentialing as a Echocardiographer

B. Education:
  • High School diploma or GED. Degree in sonography specializing in cardiology preferred
C. Experience:
  • 1 year Experience in performing all modes of Echocardiography
D. Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and/or Other Attributes:

III. Degree of Supervision Required:
  • Involves general guidance and direction by Supervisors and/or Department Manager.
  • The employee will be expected to perform most job duties independently and in accordance with established departmental and hospital policies and procedures.

IV. Physical Requirements:
  • Frequent pushing and pulling of wheeled 350lb devices.
  • Frequent sitting, standing, and bending.
  • Some lifting of items up to 25lbs.
  • Frequent close visual work with CRT.

  • This position requires competence in assessment, treatment, and/or care for all population groups served and specifically for the age groups indicated below.
  • The staff member must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care, based on physical, psycho/social, educational, safety, and related criteria, appropriate to the patients served in his/her assigned service area.
  • The skills and knowledge needed to provide such care may be gained through education, training, or experience.
