What do you get to do in this position?

The Product Specialist role is to provide technical functions to our branch and partner community on the Schneider Electric EcoStruxure solution. The position will be responsible for developing, supporting and delivering integrated, intelligent solutions for Schneider Electric clients in key market segments. The ideal candidate possesses the ability to develop broad solutions by understanding the customer context, process and needs, as well as technical, business and process aptitude induced by the integration of numerous interconnected components and sub-systems. Additionally, the ability to work horizontally across the entire SE organization to influence change in product, services, and process that enable a more efficient and effective offer to Schneider Electric clients.
Specifically, the Product Specialist will:
  • 1 st project support for branches and partners (architecture design review, HW/SW design assist, submittal review, onsite startup assist) both on site and remotely
  • Transition project support for branches and partners (transitioning from legacy product line to EcoStruxure)
  • Performs take off from engineering drawings, and prepare BOM, system architecture, riser diagrams/schematic
  • Prepares technical proposal, technical compliance matrix and responses to RFI, RFQ and RFP.
  • Supports Sales and Business development personnel to provide technical presentations
  • Performs sales demonstration at customer meetings and trade shows
  • Prepares technical proposal, technical compliance matrix and responses to RFI, RFQ and RFP.
  • Be a subject matter expert and validate, through technical gap analysis, the quotes in approval stage
  • Stays current with HVAC industry trends and competition offering.
  • Interfaces with the design and implementation engineers, so that any problems arising during design or implementation can be resolved in accordance with the architectural guidelines and principles, and stakeholder needs and constraints.
  • Ensures that a maximally robust architecture is developed that takes into account all identified quality constraints and attributes.
  • Validates the architectural design via stakeholder reviews, prototyping, system simulation and hand-on system testing.
Generates products such as architectural descriptions, sketches, models, and prototypes to keep the system stakeholders constantly up to date and in agreement on the system to be provided as it are evolving.

This job might be for you if:

  • Undergraduate Degree in Electrical, Mechanical or Computer Science from an accredited institution (or equivalent industry experience).
  • Minimum of 5 years of HVAC systems or solutions development experience.
  • Minimum 2 years of EcoStruxure solution experience and Schneider Electric Legacy line (Vista or Continuum or I/A etc.
  • The ability to translate business needs into engineering objectives.
  • The ability to clearly and concisely convey complex design and technology decisions to both engineering and non-engineering personnel.
  • Strong IT and networking knowledge
  • Strong team building and mentoring skills.
  • Be results oriented, creative, have a strong work ethic, and enjoy solving challenging problems.
  • Excellent writing and editing skills.
  • Be self-motivated and highly organized.
• Extensive regional traveling required (40% to 60%)

Other Desired Skills
  • Familiarity with HVAC industry standard
  • Knowledge of HVAC industry communication protocol such as Web Services, BACnet, Modbus, Lon Works, OPC and etc.
  • Competent with MS Visio, AutoCAD and Microsoft Office software suite
  • Knowledge of security standards for network devices.
  • Comfortable with hands-on system setup, testing and validation
